Stirrup Leggings and Childhood Trauma

by Thursday, July 14, 2016

There are just some fashion trends you do NOT have to follow. Lets see fashion with one critical eye. Latest coup – stirrup leggings found in quite few AW16 Fashion Shows (Versace, Balenciaga or Marni) and also on IT Girl Pernille Teisbaek. Though the girl is very fashion forward and her skinny legs can tolerate those leggings I just cant imagine how a normal mortal female would look like in those. I had the honor to meet with this fashion trend when I had like 7 or 8 years.

When i was a kido, my mom use to buy clothes for me and she selected what I should wear to school. Stirrup Leggings were just one of many disasters I have been through. Not only every child in my class was teasing me about those – no, I didn’t like ’em either. They are just to damn straight. They show no leg structure at all and look just terribly wrong. It looks like you have two tunnels instead of legs and no ankles at all. So even if the stirrup leggings scream Cary Bradshaw Style according to Who What Wear and even if they do become the next fashion trend 2016 I just can’t handle them. SO please don’t! Just Don’t. Even if you are Kendall Jenner – stirrups are wrong. Greetings for my mom a relentless fashion trendsetter showing no fear to experiment with me.
